Barnsley College is a further education college just out of the town centre of Barnsley, England. It has several campuses Eastgate House, the Falcon Centre, the SciTech Centre, Old Mill Lane Site, Construction Centre Site and the Honeywell Centre. The college provides A levels, vocational courses and higher education courses.

Berks Community Television is a volunteer organization. Volunteers serve on our Board of Directors and various committees, produce and host programs, help in the office, work during our Octoberfest Fund Drive and serve as technical volunteers. College interns are welcome.

Technical Volunteers

Each Technical Volunteer plays an integral part in BCTV's live telecasts, whether operating a camera, answering phones, or assisting our staff in other ways. Depending on your skills, interest, and availability, you may become more involved in learning about and participating in other facets of BCTV's telecasting (studio set-up, camera switching and remote telecast operations.) Technical volunteer work hours are very flexible. A volunteer may work 2 hours per week, 2 hours per month, or whatever arrangement you make with BCTV's Volunteer Coordinator.

BCTV is accepting applications for production internships for all scholastic semesters. Interns gain hands-on experience with BCTV production staff in event coverage, camera and technical operations, audio/video components, and live programming.

The internship is unpaid, and applicants should be enrolled with an institution of higher learning which offers college credit for internships. Selected interns are evaluated on learning ability, proficiency, initiative, and reliability; Unofficial, "between terms" internships are also considered.

Interest in community activities and events of local interest is recommended. Interns are required to act and dress in a professional manner while associated with BCTV.

The BCTV brand was finally dropped when Global launched its new look on February 6, 2006. CHAN's local news brand became "Global BC" at this point. The Global Television Network's owned-and-operated station in B.C., it currently uses the on-air brand Global BC, and was previously known as BCTV. The station is available throughout British Columbia
